Some propaganda campaigns in the 50s of the 20th century in the regional press

This thesis gives describes the propaganda's campaign of Číhošť's miracle, Jan Buchal, "fight with potato beetle" and of the Babice's case, in the regional press in the 50s of the 20th century. At first, the thesis describes the historical contexts of this era, particularly changes in policy after the onset of Communist Party after February 1948. There is also introduced the situation in Czechoslovak media in 1950. For this thesis is important the capter about preparing process before propaganda's campaign - there is the demonstration of "campaign with Milada Horáková". Then, from third capture, there is the analysis of the nationwide and regional press. Every propaganda is being explored in local press - Jiskra, Pravda or Nová svoboda. Then is being explored in local press in diffrent part of the Czechoslovakia - Průboj and as well in the nationwide press - Rudé právo. The analysis of the articles provides an overview of the propaganda in the regional press in the 50s. Beside the analysis of the articles and newspaper, this thesis is about comparison between individual analysis. There is the comparasion between diffrent forms of regional press and then regional press beetween nationwide press. In the end of this thesis is comparison between individual propaganda's campaign, too.
The media portrayal of the miracle of Cihost over the change of time

The event known as the miracle of Cihost happened in a small village Číhošť in the region of Havlickuv Brod at the end of 1949, beginning of 1950. A crucifix moved on the altar during a sermon. The event led to an investigation and the detention of local priest, Josef Toufar, by the State Secret Police. Father Toufar became one of the first victims of the newly established totalitarian regime. This work called "The Media Portrayal of the Miracle of Cihost Over the Change of Time" presents the case known as the miracle of Cihost over three historical periods. The first period is connected with the origin of the case, therefore the end of 1949, beginning of 1950, the second period, which deals with events in Cihost to a certain extent, is the reform year 1968 and the last period is represented by the velvet revolution in 1989 which changed the established manner of functioning of state apparatus in our country and during which time the existing media system also transformed. The aim of this work is to point out the differences in the interpretations of this case in separate historical periods as each period deals with the case in question very differently. The Číhošť Miracle as a Theme and a Tool of Communist Propaganda

The bachelor thesis called The Číhošť Miracle as a Theme and a Tool of Communist Propaganda deals with the usage of propaganda in the campaign against so called miracle in Číhošť which was led in the 50s of the 20th century by the Communist Party of the Czechoslovakia. In the first part this thesis presents the theoretical basic for the analysis carried out in the research part. There is introduced the theory of totalitarianism which is essential to capture the mood at that time and the conditions in the Czechoslovakian society, and subsequently the theory of propaganda as the instrument inherently connected with the totalitarian regimes. To the perfect illustration this thesis later proposes the concrete context of the 50s in the Czechoslovakia where the key element was the rise of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia to the power and its relationship with the Catholic Church. The Číhošť Miracle itself is analyzed separately where there is chiefly introduced its process as well as its consequences for the Parson Josef Toufar and the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia. The second part is practical and based on the methodological inclusion and the presented theory there is an ongoing analysis of the historical sources.
